I started out in the art field with two years of post high school training in graphic design and illustration. I then went on to get my bachelors degree with a major in Fine Art at Kutztown University. Through a series of serendipitous events I ended up working in the auto and truck rental business. I always loved cars and this gave me an opportunity to get close to my passion while continuing to do my painting and illustration work on a casaul basis. With a strong creative side I am able to look at projects and business opportunities with a broader scope than just an analytical left brain perspective. That lets me envision things in a holistic fashion, often seeing opportunties that others have missed.
During my 26+ years in the automotive and transportation fields I've served in executive management, and sales roles, developing marketing and e-Commerce strategies, web development projects, and other business development strategies. Working for two of the largest Midwest banks (KeyBank USA and National City Bank) I honed my intrapreneurial skills in marketing and public relations by working on cutting edge projects, interacting with local media, and highlighting the positive impact of our programs on consumers and dealers in our markets.
Joining Hourglass Management Corporation as their VP of Marketing was a natural progression and allowed me to continue doing the type of work I enjoyed at The Dubis Group.
At Hourglass we work with companies, primarily in the automotive, finance and technology space who are looking to take their operations to the next level. By providing marketing and strategic support Hourglass Marketing Services helps organizations introduce new products, services, expand current projects and initiate strategies to build their customer and prospect base.
CarFolks.com is a project in the automotive social media and online marketing arena. Our pro-dealer business model will change the way auto retailers and vehicle manufacturers communicate with their customers and prospects. The site offers a free page to every car sales person in the United States and Canada to build their personal brand and allows their customers to share the experience they had at the dealership with their neighbors in the online community.
Previously I held the position of Editor of Digital Dealer magazine, where I wrote-about the state of technology, eCommerce and strategies that helped dealerships advance their Web agenda's.
Over the years, I have worked for some of the largest automotive retailers in South Florida and then utilized my entrepreneurial skills by owning and managing my own vehicle leasing company for eight years. The South Florida Business Journal included Arrow Motorcar on their list of the Top 25 leasing companies in the market.
I also held positions in the financial services arena for two of the largest banks in the country, KeyBank and National City Bank. While working for these institutions I developed marketing strategies, online alliances, and some cutting edge Web sites for the banking industry.
At National City I developed, The National City Auto Channel. This was the first online automotive shopping portal hosted on a bank web site. It tied together the bank's network of 3000+ dealers and promoted them to a potential customer market of over four million households in the Mid-West. Under my watch we also introduced EzDealer.net a news, products and services site for dealers to obtain information about bank lending le nding programs. National City exited the automotive retail business in November 2005 and these sites are no longer in production.
